Why the Web is Powerful

Unlike JibJab, who's co-founder at FlashForward San Francisco last year admitted to having a huge audience of web visitors but no idea how to capitalize on them, Rocketboom is about to make some serious ching.

One basic premise of web marketing new services/ideas is to make it available for little or no money then after
about a year of heavy visits/use, start to charge a fee. Companies who have used this strategy successfully include: PayPal, Ebay, and now Rocketboom. (NOTE: Blogger is still free and a great Blogging software!)

Rocketboom is a simple 3-minute video blog that has gotten a ton of media attention from the NYTimes to Wired Magazine and now
is offering, for the first time ever, advertising space on their video blog on Ebay. Two more days of bidding left and the bids are already up to $14,999! (Ok, one note here, this could just be a good friend, and/or people bale on bids all the time.) It's just the concept that producing a video blog in someone's NYC bedroom could be converted to cold hard cash - gotta love the web!
